Specifications of anti-acid tiles
Anti-acid brick tiles – Non-glazed products due to their high strength and resistance to acids (except HF or fluoridric acid)
Are considered. It should be noted that the chemical resistance of antacid tiles against alkalis is not required. The body color of antacid tiles is usually white.
Anti-acid tile and its features:

Chemical properties of antacid tiles
Anti-acid tile and its appearance features:
Features of anti-acid tiles include tile shape, size and thickness. The limitations and conditions related to each of these features in anti-acid tiles are as follows:
Anti-acid tiles
Acid tile shape:
Antacid tiles are usually rectangular (square or rectangular), but there are no restrictions. Only tiles that are in other shapes should have all the standard features of antacid tiles.
This standard does not place any restrictions on the shape and size of all anti-acid parts, including parts for edges and sides, as well as parts with special shapes that are used in tanks, but in terms of relevant sizes and tolerances, Attention to the nominal sizes of each code is determined by the manufacturer and according to the sizes and tolerances of tiles of the same size have the conditions mentioned in this standard. From the point of view of physical and chemical properties of anti-acid parts, which are in shapes other than rectangles, they must have all the properties mentioned in the standard of anti-acid tiles.
Sizes in antacid tiles:
There are no specific restrictions on antacid tiles according to this standard
Anti-acid tile thickness:
In anti-acid tiles, this standard does not set a specific limit for the amount of thickness, but its manufacturer is obliged to determine and announce the thickness of each of these anti-acid tiles that it produces. The thickness of the antacid tile includes the bumps on the back.
Anti-acid tile and its physical and mechanical properties:
In anti-acid tiles, these properties include water absorption, flexural strength, surface hardness, abrasion resistance, heat shock resistance and frost resistance.
Anti-acid tile and its chemical properties:
Anti-acid tiles are resistant to contact with acidic chemicals, which does not require chemical resistance of this type of product against alkalis.
Packaging and marking of anti-acid tiles (specifications):
Anti-acid tiles must be properly packaged and the following information and specifications must be recorded on the package:
Name of anti-acid tile and mark of the manufacturer
Sign ((k – z))
Made in Iran
Refers to the number of this standard and the anti-acidity of the tile
barcode
Sizes and thickness of antacid tiles
Precise information on the number and approximate area of anti-acid tiles in each package must be written in Persian and the manufacturer is allowed to record the information in a foreign language on the package.
Test method for acid resistance of anti-acid tiles:
Equipment :
dryer
Accurate scale with an accuracy of 100 grams
Jaw crusher
Sieves 6300 microns (6/30 mm) and 4750 microns (4/75 mm)
electric stove
Mechanical vibrator
Desiccator
ingredients :
Sulfuric acid (78% 60 B, SPgr = 1.706 w)
Exam preparation:
The anti-acid tile to be tested should be crushed by a jaw crusher. The crushed material should be granulated in such a way that it contains the material remaining on the 6300 micron sieve (the largest grains) and passed through the 4750 micron sieve (the smallest grains).
After preparing about 1000 grams of sample with granulation similar to the above conditions, it is necessary to sift the sample with the help of vibrating sieves No. 3 (6300 microns) and No. 4 (4750 microns) for 15 minutes. Then, the remaining materials are thoroughly mixed on sieve No. 4 (which has passed through sieve No. 3) and 2 samples of 50 grams of the mentioned mixed materials are removed. These samples should be dried in a dryer for half an hour at 120 ° C.
method :
Each of the 50 g samples is carefully weighed 0.01 g and poured into human beings along with 250 ml of sulfuric acid. The human contents are then placed on an electric stove for 48 hours to gently boil. The human contents are then cooled and passed through a strainer.
The weight loss percentage is obtained from the following formula:
L = (M1 – M2 / M1) * 100
Weight loss percentage = L
Initial weight in grams = M1
Secondary weight in grams = M2
The maximum allowable weight loss is 1.5%.
